AI-Sight’s First Product

AI-Sight has successfully gained UKCA Class I device certification for its Assisted Grading Tool.

The Assisted Grading Tool is a world first commercial product to support human graders engaged in diagnosing the presence and severity of diabetic disease in retinal images. The technology is designed to support human graders, as they screen images for evidence of disease by integrating with their existing grading software. The technology is based on our revolutionary AI models that are being developed into a full diagnostic platform for Class IIa device regulation, and can function as both a training tool and a decision-support tool for graders working in screening programmes and clinical settings.

Recent commentators have suggested that the number of adults with diabetes will exceed 1 billion by 2050, truly a tsunami of chronic disease which will afflict the world. Establishing early detection and treatment through screening and prompt referral is even more pressing and has been given extra impetus by the World Health Organization European Office for Non-communicable Disease with their focus on improving screening in Europe and Central Asia.

Building these screening programmes will require very significant investments in human and physical capital - investments that can be supported and potentially accelerated by adoption of the Assisted Grading Tool by existing and planned diagnostic grading centres.
