AI-Sight Finalist for SEIS Best Investee Company Award
The Enterprise Investment Scheme Association has announced that AI-Sight has been selected as a finalist for the Best SEIS Investee Company Award 2023. The award recognises an outstanding and innovative UK start up that has raised investment through the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) in the last 18 months.
AI-Sight Chief Executive Officer, Dr Steve Powell, spoke of the company’s excitement at the news:
“The award is judged on the company’s philosophy, impact and achievements and to be short-listed is a vote of confidence from the industry. Our investor could see a clear route to market and a requirement for our solution and we are thrilled that EISA has similarly seen the life-changing potential for our AI solution – both in the UK and worldwide.
“We believe our greatest achievement to date is delivery of a true negative rate on diabetic retinopathy screening of 97.7%, which is significantly higher than those of competitors. This demonstrates accurate detection and grading of disease, allowing resources to be targeted most effectively at those needing urgent sight saving interventions and to address the leading cause of working age blindness worldwide. The quality of our offering has been recognised through enrolment onto the NVIDIA inception programme and we plan to be revenue generating in 2024.
“In the next 3 years, we will deploy our service across the UK and multiple other geographies to improve existing screening programmes and support their development in countries that do not currently screen.”
The Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA) represents entrepreneurs, investors, fund managers and advisers from across the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) ecosystem. The Enterprise Investment Scheme has cross-party support and is designed to ensure the UK is one of the most business-friendly countries in the world. The scheme has seen over £30 billion invested in 53,000 businesses, a success story that has led France to recently develop its own version of the scheme.
The winners will be announced and celebrated at a ceremony at the House of Lords on Thursday, 22 June.
